Privacy Policy - Proofrun

Proofrun teaches programming by running real code on your phone. This policy explains what the app collects, what it sends, and what stays on your device. Proofrun does not need an account and does not ask for your name, email or phone number.

1. Your code stays on your phone

Lessons, the playground and code you share into Proofrun run on your device, offline. Your code, your lesson answers, your progress, streak and settings are stored only on your phone. We do not upload them, and we cannot see them.

2. AI explanations (optional, 18+)

Some screens offer an optional AI explanation. It is only for users aged 18 and over, and it only runs when you tap it. When you do, the code, error message and lesson text needed to answer are sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which asks an AI model (Google Gemini) for the answer and sends it back. We do not attach your name or contact details, and we do not use this code to train AI models. Saved and offline explanations never leave your phone. You can turn AI off in Settings.

3. Usage analytics and crash reports

To learn which lessons confuse people and to fix crashes, Proofrun uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics. They collect app events (for example "lesson started", "run failed", "paywall shown"), device model, OS version, app version, approximate country and a random app-instance ID. They do not include your code. You can turn analytics off in Settings.

4. Ads

The free version shows ads through Google AdMob, for example after a finished lesson or after a number of code runs. AdMob may use your device's advertising ID and approximate location to show and measure ads. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA and UK) we ask for your consent first, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings. Proofrun Pro has no ads.

5. Purchases

Proofrun Pro is bought through Google Play or the Apple App Store. They handle payment; we only receive confirmation of which plan is active. We never see your card or bank details.

6. Permissions

Proofrun uses the internet only for ads, AI explanations, analytics, crash reports and purchases. It may ask to send you reminder notifications for your daily practice; you can switch these off at any time. It does not use your camera, microphone, contacts or location.

7. Children

Proofrun is not directed at children under 13. AI explanations are limited to users aged 18 and over.

8. Keeping and deleting data

Everything stored on your phone is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data. Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months and crash reports for up to 90 days. To ask us to delete analytics data linked to your device, email us and we will help.
